HERE’S another Airbnb horror story to add to the list.

One unlucky man had a real-life Goldilocks moment recently when he came home to find two strangers sleeping in his bed. Worse still, all his booze was gone. There was even a hookah on the table.

Robert Corwin, a digital artist who splits his time between California and Chicago, found out the hard way that his roommate was secretly renting out his bedroom while he was away, CBS News reports.

Mr Corwin told CBS News’ Mike Parker he felt violated. “It’s awful. Somebody invaded my nest,” he said.

His tenant, who was renting the second bedroom with his permission, had sneakily listed Mr Corwin’s bedroom on the room-sharing website to make some extra cash while his landlord was out of town.

“Your imagination goes crazy with what’s going on. It could be everything from orgies to drugs,” Mr Corwin said. “[Airbnb] could go after him, or stop him from ever doing it. But they’re just like, ‘We’re not going anything.’”

Unsurprisingly, the roommate was kicked out ejected, but Mr Corwin said he wanted Airbnb to take action.

In an initial statement, Airbnb said: “Airbnb does not own, operate, manage or control accommodations, nor do we verify private contract terms or arbitrate complaints from third parties.”

But it later conceded it would look into his claims.
