Michael Dell - dishwasher
The founder of computer company Dell started his working life washing dishes at a Chinese restaurant.
He was 12 years old and was saving money for his stamp collection.
Bill Gates - computer programmer
The co-founder and current chairman of Microsoft unsurprisingly got his start as a computer programmer. During his senior year at high school he worked for defence contractor TRW, fixing bugs in one of its programs.
Jeff Bezos - McDonald's
The founder and CEO of Amazon worked on the grills at McDonald's as a teenager.
"I was a grill man and never worked the cash registers. The most challenging thing was keeping everything going at the right pace during a rush. The manager at my McDonald's was excellent. He had a lot of teenagers working for him, and he kept us focused even while we had fun," Mr Bezos is quotes as saying in the book Golden Opportunity: Remarkable Careers That Began at McDonald's.
Warren Buffet - newspaper delivery
The legendary investor of chairman of Berkshire Hathaway started a newspaper delivery service at age 13.

The US steel magnate started out picking walnuts from the woods near his neighbourhood and selling them at the local market. He was 11 years old.
