At 12:55pm AEDT, the benchmark added 0.55%. Not bad for a post-holiday comeback, with 9 out of 11 sectors in the green.

The rally capped off a strong Monday, when the ASX had its best day in six months, jumping 1.7% after last week’s heavy selling.
