Woolworths website slammed by customers

WOOLWORTHS customers have slammed the retail giant’s latest venture, with many threatening to never shop there again.

WOOLWORTHS customers have slammed the retail giant’s new website, with many threatening to walk away and never shop there again.

The company launched a new online shopping page last month, with many customers finding the experience much more difficult to use than the old site.

Complaints have included problems with functionality (with some claiming the site crashes on iPad), usability (many people claiming their shopping is taking much longer), and product range, with some users saying they can no longer find things that used to be stocked.

Customers have hit the supermarket’s Facebook page, bombarding the retailer with complaints.

Michael Gibson wrote: “The new website will have us taking our business elsewhere (Coles, as their website works”).

“Why Woolworths why? The new website is slow, hard to navigate, and my quick online shop has taken me ages just to find my normal stuff,” posted Kristy Zakharoff. “Things don’t fit on screen, I can’t scroll. I’ve tried on laptop, tablet and mobile. All are just as bad. Can you please advise if this will be fixed as I’m ready to move on.”

Alice Johnson wrote: “New website is shocking and so frustrating! So hard to navigate, very slow, and I can’t find food items that I would usually buy online. After many years shopping with Woolies I’m going to Coles online.”

Alice Owens Wheeler: “Woolworths have changed their online shopping website to make it “easier”. What a shambles in Chrome. Cannot use the scroll down button and lists are not in isle order. I tried it in other browsers and it is no better. I am so frustrated. IGA will get my business this weekend.”

Bek Lambert: “Guys your new app keeps freezing and blacking out and your web version wouldn’t allow me to access lists or check my trolley until I paid. Not only that, but the search was not working and it took three time the amount of time”.

Vanessa Kelly: “Shopped this week using the website. Half the stuff didn’t go into my trolley, so things weren’t ordered and it took twice as long. I will be trying Coles next week”.

Curiously, among the dozens of highly critical complaints over the past few days, there were two well-crafted entries supporting the chain.

Nikki Rose: “I am very excited about your new site! When does it launch? A well made, intuitive site at good prices — let’s hope the rest of online stores in Australia get the same idea.

Rebekah Ramsey: “Woolworths, I really like the look of the new online shopping. How visually easy and organised — all the reasons to give up before.”

In a statement, a Woolworths spokesman said the company “regularly reviews customer feedback to ensure our online platforms are providing the level of service and information our customers expect.”
