FANCY a cockroach with your Easter egg this year?

That’s what one Woolworths customer found in their Easter egg box, but that’s not the only supermarket blunder that has people fuming this Good Friday.

Angry customers have taken to Facebook to air their frustrations with the supermarket chain, one complaining about a lack of fruit in her hot cross buns and another upset because they were frozen.

Others also complained about Woolies shutting earlier then advertised.

Sarah Liversidge posted a photo of a Footy Fan Easter egg on Facebook, showing a large roach making itself at home on the milk chocolate.

Very sad 6 year old given egg with cockroach in the packet!

“Very sad six-year-old given egg with cockroach in the pack,” she said.

It seemed there is more than one person unhappy with the hot cross buns this year too.

“What do your bakers do, shanghai the fruit in from a distance? I thought I’d splurge and buy some hot cross buns, disappointed in the amount of fruit,” Karen Kleehammer said.

She wasn’t alone, Lisa Rizzo said there were only two sultanas in each of her buns.

Another cranky customer complained of undercooked, doughy hot cross buns.

For risk of sounding petty but hot cross buns... what do your bakers do shanghai the fruit in from a distance? I thought I'd splurge and buy some hot cross buns disappointed in the amount of fruit

A Woolworths spokesperson said in a statement: “We take customer concerns about food safety and quality very seriously. We encourage customers to contact us on 1300-767-969 where we will be able to look into their issue more thoroughly.”

People were also left fuming after some supermarkets closed early on Thursday when people were trying to do a last minute dash for groceries before they closed up for Good Friday.

“What a disappointment,” Helen Piniatidis said.

“Just went to go pick up some last minute things at your Epping store in Lyndarum as everything is closed tomorrow.

“Look online at the holiday trading hours and today read closing time 12am.

“I’m sure it isn’t 12am at this moment, it’s 11pm, the trading hours at the store also said closing at 12am.

“Also hearing staff walk out the back laughing and talking about how everyone is panicking like the world is ending and laughing as they see customers walk in and noticed it’s closed, such a shame.”

11:40pm - is it possible to advertise the correct hours both in store and online so customers who arrive don't find the store closed 20 minutes early

Another customer arrived at a store to find it closed 20 minutes before it was meant to.

People were also complaining about long-weekend deliveries arriving late and missing items.

Woolworths, I'm really disappointed by the number of items missing from my Easter delivery this evening. Over half of my fresh food and meat items missing. Really poor service on the day before Good Friday.
