Woolworths Rewards member scores insane $2000 haul for $15
A Woolworths shopper has left fellow consumers in awe with her incredible use of loyalty program rewards.
A Woolworths shopper’s continued loyalty to the supermarket has paid off after they scored more than $2000 worth of Christmas groceries for less than $15.
The woman, a Everyday Rewards member who dedicated herself to shopping predominantly at Woolworths throughout the year, shared on the weekend how she pulled of her impressive saving.
By using a few nifty tricks, the shopper worked out how to get herself a total of 14 per cent off on every single one of her big monthly online shops.
She paid $7 a month for a subscription to the Woolworths Everyday Extra program, which gave her 10 per cent off on a purchase of her choice once a month.
She opted to use it on her monthly online grocery shop, which she purchased using Woolworths gift cards on her NRMA phone app, which are discounted by 4 per cent.
After using the same process for all of her monthly shops throughout the year, the clever shopper ended up with a whopping $1800 in Rewards dollars to spend on her Christmas groceries.
When she placed her order last week, her dedication well and truly paid off.
Her order, including the 10 per cent off, was $1414.88, with the total value of the full priced groceries actually being well over $2000.
With the additional 4 per cent discount from using the NRMA gift card, the total was $1358.28, which was covered almost entirely by the $1800 free Rewards dollars she had.
She only ended up spending $14.88 of her own money and still had more than $400 Rewards dollars on her account.
While the subscription to Woolworths’ Everyday Extra program set her back $59 for the year, the shopper still ended up way ahead after using it regularly.
The shopper proudly shared her handiwork to social media where she was applauded for her dedication to getting the most out of her loyalty programs.
Some were amazed she managed to score more than $50 off per shop, which was generally thought to be the maximum discount.
“I have been a member of Everyday Extra since the first week of July this year – this equates to six times that I have been able to use the 10 per cent off code … overall with the six times I have used my 10 per cent off discount code, I have saved $588. Divide this by six and you get $98,” she told an inquisitive fellow member.
“As I do this every month, I can with 100 per cent certainty confirm that I have received between $50-$100 off every month.”
Others were just thrilled to see her enjoy the fruits of her labour.
“Well done! Me too! I use NRMA wish cards all year round for food and fuel,” someone wrote in a comment.
“Congratulations. Wow that’s amazing,” another said.
