Woolworths releases miniature Woolies supermarket for kids

Parents are quickly snapping up this new Woolworths item for their kids in time for Christmas – and it has nothing to do with Ooshies.

There’s a new Woolworths item for kids that’s flying off the shelves – and it has nothing to do with Ooshies.

The supermarket has released a miniature Woolies supermarket set for kids, just in time for Christmas present shopping.

It retails for $60, but shoppers are getting in quick while it’s selling at the introductory price of $40.

The new product is available at 900 Woolworths stores – and it’s already selling out fast.

The checkout, scanner and cash register set comes with 47 accessories including product shelves, mini shopping bags and a Woolworths sign.

The set also includes the brown paper bag that Woolworths introduced earlier this year.

“With Christmas around the corner and parents starting to look for fun gifts that foster creativity and imagination, we’ve introduced a mini Woolworths supermarket for all the fresh food kids in the making,” a Woolworths spokesperson told news.com.au.

“They’re already proving to be a popular gift with customers and we expect them to be a big hit this Christmas.”

Parents have expressed their enthusiasm on social media for the new set.

One Facebook user commented: “That’s going under the tree!”

Another said: “Got one for my little one! Mummy’s a checkout chick at Woolworths too!”

Woolies found itself out favour with parents last month when it ended the wildly popular Disney Ooshie promotion early.

The collectables – including 36 beloved Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, and Pixar characters such as Darth Vader, Elsa, Buzz Lightyear and Moana – were supposed to be available until the promotion ended on October 20.

But “unprecedented demand” forced the grocery heavyweight to call it off earlier than planned.
