WOOLIES has announced plans to cut 500 jobs as part of a $1 billion restructure.
WOOLWORTHS has announced plans to slash 500 jobs in its support office and supply chain as part of a $1 billion restructure.
The retail giant will also close underperforming stores and put the brakes on its new store program, and look at splitting its online retailer Ezibuy from Big W, Fairfax Media reports.
The company’s new chief executive Brad Banducci said in a statement: “Today’s announcement demonstrates both the progress we are making and our absolute commitment to act quickly to rebuild the business by doing the right thing by our customers, shareholders, team and suppliers.”
