Woolworths catalogue celebrates ‘Chistmas’
SHOPPERS poring over Christmas hams in the new Woolworths catalogue have noticed an amusing mistake in a fairly important detail.
IT CAN happen to anyone.
Woolworths has made an embarrassing typo in its latest catalogue, misspelling the word “Christmas”, to the amusement of customers.
“There’s a ham to make every Chistmas magical,” reads the text on page eight, underneath what appears to be a scene from the film Krampus.
“MERRY CHIST-MAS WOOLIES! Whoops!” Alana Maree wrote on Woolworths’ Facebook page. “Might want to check in with your catalogue editing crew!”
Chistmas typos are not unheard of. In 1980, UK newspaper The Guardian was forced to pulp its entire batch of Christmas cards which read, “Best wishes for Chistmas and the New Year.”
A Woolworths spokeswoman declined to comment.
The supermarket probably deserves some credit, however. The word “Christmas” appears 16 times in the catalogue and is only misspelt once, which works out to a 93.75 per cent success rate.
Truly a Chistmas miracle.
