Last minute Father’s Day gifts $10 and under
AUSSIE dads can be spared from more socks and jocks. It’s not too late to get an affordable gift. We found these ideas at Woolies, Aldi, Coles and Kmart.
AUSTRALIAN dads can be spared from getting more pairs of socks and jocks.
With less than 24 hours to go, it’s not too late to get a decent, affordable gift that does not break the bank for Father’s Day.
Dads can be tough to buy for, so News Corp Australia sought out some ideas from what’s left on the shelves at Woolies, Aldi, Coles and Kmart for last minute shoppers.
SOMETHING TO EAT?
Woolies still has pre-decorated mud cakes available that are already covered in icing with the words ‘Happy Father’s Day’ and ‘Dad’ cakes. They were $7.60, but have been reduced to $5.
The mud cakes recently made headlines when they were used as a last minute wedding cake alternative, and were popular with guests.
If you’re cooking for dad on Sunday, there’s a couple of options from a $9 lamb leg roast, to a kilo of Honney Soy Chicken Wing Nibbles for $7 at Woolies too.
If he’s got a sweet tooth, there are chocolates around that are going for $9.50 and $5 in the lead up to the big day.
SOMETHING TO DRINK?
Aldi Australia have a four piece beer glass set that is going for $9.99 as a Special Buy. But if your dad needs a new coffee mug, Coles has mugs with Star Wars and other superheros on them for $5 and massive man mugs for $8.
Alternatively, if your dad needs his drinks kept cool there are whiskey rocks at Coles for $6 and superhero-inspired can coolers for $4.
But if you need beer steins for his man cave, there are glasses at Coles too for $5 each.
COOKING IT UP?
If dad likes to cook, or if you’re cooking for him, there’s a few ideas around.
Those who plan to bake for dad can get this cookie cutter set for $3 to make something for him. But if you’re doing a BBQ and he loves to cook, Coles have some BBQ tools for $8.
And if Father’s Day is an excuse to redecorate outdoors or the man cave, Kmart is also selling corkback placemats for just $1.50.
GOT A GREEN THUMB?
If dad loves the garden, there’s a chance he might like some of the glazed pots Kmart have on offer.
NEED AN EXCUSE TO PAMPER?
If your dad likes his mini kits, this manicure kit from Aldi Austrlaia’s Special Buys is under $10 at $7.99.
Alternatively, dad’s man cave or outdoor area might need a cushion. Kmart have this one for just $8.
But ... if you’re still not taken by any of these ideas, socks and jocks can still be an option.
Almost 300,000 pairs of socks and 130,000 units of mens underwear are expected to be sold this year at Woolworths alone. They’re available in a number of places.
Happy shopping and Happy Father’s Day to all dads!
