A FASHION exec who laid off members of his team and then mocked the firings in a string of drink-fuelled party pics hashtagged with “Hunger Games” jokes has got a taste of his own medicine.

J.Crew has reportedly sacked Alejandro Rhett, vice president of men’s merchandising, over the incident, though a rep from the company could not confirm it, according to online fashion site The Daily Front Row.

Before posting the cruel pics, Mr Rhett had fired several workers who were among the 175 lay-offs at the struggling US company on June 10, sources told The New York Post.

He then celebrated the axing with two work friends at Linen Hall bar in Manhattan’s East Village, where he recorded the night with heartless hashtags, including “#gonegirl,” “#hungergames” and “#maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavor.”

The last two hashtags refer to the “Hunger Games” books and movies in which teens are forced to fight each other for survival.

In another pic, the 31-year-old executive flipped the bird to underling Vanessa de Jesus, who works in the men’s merchandising department. The rosé-guzzling gang also included J.Crew employee Julie Stamos and retail men’s merchandiser Andrew Ruth.

The photos have since been deleted from their accounts.

A company spokesperson told The Post earlier that the company “does not condone” their behaviour and added: “As soon as we were made aware, the appropriate actions took place.”
