Furious customer blasts Australia Post in foul-mouthed rant
A customer on a large remote property has slammed Australia Post for a bizarre attempt at delivering her parcel.
The owner of a remote rural property has blasted Australia Post after she had to go on a wild-goose chase in search of her parcel.
Heidi could not believe it when a notification her parcel had been delivered and left in a safe place was accompanied by a picture of the package sitting under a tree with no further details.
The fact Heidi’s property sprawls more than 324ha did not help matters and she was only able to find the parcel by “sheer luck”.
Heidi took to TikTok to blast the slapdash delivery attempt.
“Thank you Australia Post. Just when I thought you guys couldn’t get any f**king stupider,” she said.
“Any sensible person, you would think, would probably be able to drive up the driveway to the house and leave it up there.”
The exact location of Heidi’s property is unknown, but her other videos suggest she lives somewhere near Rockhampton, Queensland.
Issues arose with the package in question due to a new driver unfamiliar with the delivery route, NCA NewWire understands.
Australia Post said it had apologised to the customer and noted that most deliveries were completed without a hitch.
“Australia Post takes seriously its responsibility to deliver mail and parcels, and the vast majority of items are delivered safely,” an Australia Post spokesperson said in a statement.
“We have looked into this and contacted the customer directly to apologise.
“Customers with any delivery concerns are encouraged to contact us on 13 POST so we can provide help and support.”
Given the huge number of trees on the property, Heidi suggested the delivery driver had not exactly thought things through.
“I’ll just drive in and pick a tree and hope like f**k that the owner finds it,” she said in a foul-mouthed spray.
The package was worth “at least” $100.
Heidi normally goes to the local store to collect packages because of her remote location.
When she found her latest delivery wasn’t there she checked her Australia Post notification in more detail to find the photo of her package on a tree stump chosen seemingly at random.
