eBay 21st Birthday deals: From Nintendo consoles to Apple AirPods

The online marketplace is offering heavily discounted Apple AirPods, Nintendo Switches and boots from R.M. Williams as part of its sale event.

eBay.com.au has announced a 21-day sale event to mark its anniversary in the Australian online retail market.

The shopping event will be open only to eBay Plus members and will include discounts on items such as Apple AirPods, robot vacuum cleaners and household staples.

There will also be 21 per cent off items at selected eBay retailers starting from 10am on September 1 to September 12, including brands like New Balance, Toys R Ys and Lenovo Australia.

The specific deals will be on offer on different days across the 21 days and include items like Apple AirPods Pros, ECOVACS robot vacuum cleaners, and Nike Air Jordans. These deals will be strictly limited and are expected to sell out within hours, if not minutes.

eBay’s Head of Communications Sophie Onikul said this year had been tough financially for many Australians and the online marketplace was “excited to pass on savings to Aussie shoppers for those items they need and want”.

WHAT IS EBAY PLUS?

In order to take advantage of the discounts, shoppers will need to be eBay Plus members.

The subscription-service gives members access to exclusive discounts and deals, free express metro delivery on selected products and free delivery and 5 per cent off orders over $49 from Coles via eBay.

The membership will set you back $49 a year and a free 30 day trial is available for new members.

WHAT DEALS ARE AVAILABLE?

Sneaker fans will be able to get their hands on the coveted Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro Highs in ‘Light Smoke Grey’ for $230 (from $494.50). 200 units of the highly limited edition basketball shoes will be available at 10am on September 2.

eBay are also releasing multiple drops of Nintendo’s Ring Fit Adventure. The Nintendo Switch accessory turns the console into a workout and is on sale for $95 from $124.95. Multiple drops will be available from 10am on September 2.

R. M. Williams’ Men’s Dynamic Flex Craftsman for $399, down from $595, will go on sale from September 8.

Customers are also expected to get into a frenzy over the two drops of Apple’s Airpod Pros. Priced at $249, down from $375, the wireless earphones will be released on September 11 and September 16 and feature active noise cancellation and up to 4.5 hours of listening time in one charge.
