Aaron Paul launches twitter campaign to reinstate ‘Breaking Bad’ action figures at Toys R Us
AARON Paul is furious with Toys ‘R’ Us after ‘Breaking Bad’ figurines were pulled from the shelves. Even US president Barack Obama was shocked.
Aaron Paul is upset that a Florida mum’s petition to get Breaking Bad dolls removed from Toys “R” Us stores has succeeded.
On Thursday, the 35-year-old actor, who played Jesse Pinkman in the series, launched a Twitter tirade questioning the store’s other selection of toys available for kids.
Wait, so @ToysRUs pulled all of the Breaking Bad figures from their shelves and still sells Barbie? Hmmmm...I wonder what is more damaging?

â@BarackObama: Wait, are you serious about the whole @ToysRUs thing?!?â Yes I am Mr. President. Yes I am.

And what about all of the violent video games you sell @ToysRUs ? Do you still sell those? Florida mom really messed it up for everyone.

Florida mom Susan Schrivjer received over 9000 signatures. The petition states her concerns over the dolls. “Toys ‘R’ Us is well-known around the world for their vast selection of toys of children of all ages,” it read. “However their decision to sell a Breaking Bad doll, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, alongside children’s toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values.”
Following his rant, Paul shared a link to a petition urging the toy store to put “Breaking Bad” figures back on shelves. As of Friday morning in the US, it had received 22,914 signatures with just over 2000 more to go before its goal is met.
Here's the petition to sign to keep the toys on the shelves! Why can you sell guns and not Walt and Jesse? YeahBitch https://t.co/8iEFsLBCIn

Daniel Pickett, who launched the opposing petition, says, “Toys ‘R’ Us’ decision to sell a line of Breaking Bad ACTION FIGURES, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, in an aisle designated for adult collectors, featuring properties of a more mature nature that might appeal to older collectors, and away from the other ‘kid’ toys, shows that TRU understands there is more than one group of collectors that regularly come through their doors each day.”
He continued, “And that they can observe and in some cases even dictate how these figures are packaged, marketed and sold in their stores. It is NOT irresponsible to have these in the store. It is only irresponsible if they sell them to people they are not appropriate for. That’s why I’m calling on Toys R Us to KEEP selling the Breaking Bad action figure collection in their stores and on their website as well as other ‘mature’ toy lines.”
Earlier this week, Bryan Cranston tweeted he was “burning my Florida Mom action figure in protest.”
Requests for comment from Toys “R” Us were not immediately returned.
