Mehajer saga: Former beautician and wife of Auburn deputy mayor becomes property developer

SALIM Mehajer’s wife Aysha has gone from a former beautician to the director of 12 companies in record time.

FORMER beautician Aysha Mehajer, the wife of Auburn Council’s embattled deputy mayor Salim Mehajer has become a Western Sydney property developer overnight.

Mrs Mehajer has been appointed a director of 12 of her husband’s companies after he stepped down from the same role in many of those companies last month. On Friday, Mr Mehajer told the council he had “resigned from being a developer and director of multiple companies”, saying he intended to concentrate on a bachelor degree in medicine, specialising in mental health issues.

The local councillor has also previously stated he intended to get a law degree and become prime minister of Australia.

The 29-year-old politician has not handed his wife an easy task.

She has taken over as the head of S.E.T. Services Pty Limited and Sydney Project Group Pty Limited, which are being sued for $2 million for breach of contract.

Sydney Constructions and Development has had its purchase of a $6.5 million council carpark vetoed by councillors in light of the outrage over the Mehajers’ high-profile wedding.

The over-the-top nuptials, involving four helicopters, a fighter jet and a motorcade with bikie escorts brought Auburn to a standstill and thrust the young property developer uncomfortably into the spotlight

Mr Mehajer settled out of court for $1.72 million with two women who were struck when he lost control of his $300,000 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.
