Is Google releasing its own Chromebook?
LEAKED documents show rumoured Chromebook could have a pretty light scheme in Google colours on start up.
NEW documents leaked over the weekend hint that Google may be releasing its own Chromebook - a laptop which runs the tech giant's Chrome operating system.
HP announced it would be releasing its own Chromebook last week, but the computer does not contain the features listed in the leaked documents, namely a pretty "lightbar scheme" in Google colours that appears when you turn the computer on.
Google developer Francois Beaufort posted a link to documentation which offered evidence of this so-called "lightbar scheme".
"At Startup or wake from sleep, Google colors [sic] cycle in," the document reads.
"While running, > 25% power level in the battery: All blue, in a breathing effect (cycle up and down 30%).
"While running, shutting down, or going into sleep: Cycle out the Google colors, [sic].
"(Note: the effect is only visible for S0->S3,
because shutting down kills power to the lightbar before we can react)."
This feature doesn't exist in current Chromebooks, but it could be planned for future computers, such as the rumoured Chromebook "Pixel" which is rumoured to be a laptop designed by Google engineers.
Even more strange, the author of the document is listed as Bill Richardson – the former New Mexico Governor who recently travelled to North Korea with Google Chairman, Eric Schmidt.
Are these documents real, or just a ruse? You decide.
