Iamgold to cut 10pct of Suriname workers
SURINAME'S commodoties-based economy has taken another hit with Canada's Iamgold to cut 10 per cent of its workforce after Alcoa's planned closure.
A CANADIAN company that operates a gold mine in Suriname says it will dismiss roughly 10 per cent of its workforce to reduce costs amid low global prices for the precious metal.
TORONTO-BASED Iamgold Corp announced the cuts on Thursday.
