It is a known fact that dancing promotes good health and balance. Do yourself a favour and join the fun with Old Time, New Vogue and Sequence dancing every Friday.

Art Club on Chapel

Discover your artistic talent and share creative interest with like-minded people. Art Club on Chapel is starting a weekly portrait sketching night with life model from mid-November. BYO art materials.

Pop Culture Trivia

Following the success of the 80s trivia night earlier this year, pencil into your diaries what promises to be another great night for the Canterbury Bankstown Trilogy Foundation. There will be questions on music, movies, TV, sports and celebrities from 1930 until today with prizes to win. Organisers are promising more music, more video clips, more games and more fun while supporting children with special needs.

Bankstown Choir Concert

Pencil in Bankstown City Choir last major concert of the year.

If you enjoy singing, why not go along and join in. The Choir’s philosophy is that everyone who wishes should have a chance to sing and so there are no auditions to become a member. You don’t need to read music or have any other prior experience.

Garageworks #4

Garageworks is a series of music nights at Bankstown Arts Centre celebrating musicians from the garages and studios of Western Sydney and beyond. The line-up includes Germ Studies, an Australian pairing of pianist Chris Abrahams and harpist Claire Cooper, The Splinter Orchestra, a Sydney based large-scale ensemble, Zeadala a Sydney based musician influenced by her love of 90’s Hip Hop and R&B. This event is for people 16 years and over.

Carols in the park

It’s an event that is not to be missed and one for all of the family to enjoy. Carols in the park will be held on Sunday the 2nd of December at the Wiley Park Amphitheatre, from 6pm. Pack some snacks and a picnic rug and join in the celebrations that will include free entertainment, glitter tattoos, face painting, a visit from Santa and a fireworks finale. MC for the evening will be Australian entertainment presenter, jazz singer and actress, Monica Trapaga.

International Day of People with Disabilities Gala

In celebration of International Day of People with Disabilities, the City of Canterbury Bankstown are partnering with local community members to hero the achievements and contributions of people with a disability. The Gala will include food, music and entertainment. This event is for people 18 years and over. Tickets cost $15

CEROC Jive dancing

Ceroc is a modern form of jive that’s easy to learn. Turn up to classes any week and you’ll fit right into the beginner group. They rotate you around to different partners, although if you want to stay with your own partner, that’s fine. People of all ages are welcome.

When: Mondays 7.30-10.30pm.
