Get Connected Spooktacular: Business Networking Event

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is holding their annual business networking event this October. The event is the perfect opportunity for small business owners to gain valuable support, become inspired to grow their business and connect with like-minded people. The event will include six Trick or Treat Chat Pod sessions allowing small business owners the opportunity to chat with and gain insightful knowledge from industry-leading experts.

When: Wednesday 31st October, 11:30am-4pm

Panania village markets

The market offers a wide range of quality stalls including art and crafts, children’s clothing, books, candles, cards, sweets, fairy floss and nuts, cosmetics, fashion, gifts, honey, Indian food, plants, jewellery, toys, records, CDs and DVDs, at a wheelchair friendly outdoor market. Regular and casual stallholders are welcome. The markets are managed and operated by the Rotary Club of Padstow as a community project with proceeds in support of charitable projects.

Waterworth Park Community tree planting

Help restore the banks of the Wolli Creek and Cooks River by getting involved in our community greening. All equipment will be provided, all you have to do is wear the appropriate clothing (hat, covered shoes, long sleeved shirt), FREE drinks and morning tea will also be provided.

Grey Headed Flying Fox information evening

Join in watching the amazing nightly display of grey-headed flying foxes leaving their roost along Wolli Creek. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from expert guides and volunteers, from the Wolli Creek Preservation. Grey-headed flying foxes are one of our most interesting local residents, playing an important part in maintaining the biodiversity of our local environment. Bookings are required and all children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

CEROC Jive dancing

Ceroc is a modern form of jive that’s easy to learn. Turn up to classes any week and you’ll fit right into the beginner group. They rotate you around to different partners, although if you want to stay with your own partner, that’s fine. People of all ages are welcome.

It’s Showtime: with Blondes and Baritones

Illegally Blonde presents ... It’s Showtime with Blondes & Baritones featuring Stephen Fisher King and Shayne-Anne O’Leary. Shayne-Anne is from a show business family and pays tribute to Blondes through the years – from Rosemary Clooney, Nancy Sinatra, Bette Midler and Dusty Springfield with a lot of laughs along the way. Stephen is a vibrant and exciting classically trained performer who will perform songs from musical theatre to arias.  An exciting show not to be missed backed by a four piece band with Steve Vee your MC.

Pop culture trivia

Following the success of the 80s trivia night earlier this year, pencil into your diaries what promises to be another great night for the Canterbury Bankstown Trilogy Foundation. There will be questions on music, movies, TV, sports and celebrities from 1930 until today with prizes to win. Organisers are promising more music, more video clips, more games and more fun while supporting children with special needs.
