Fresh Food Market

When: 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm Details, September 8th - November 10th
Where: Corner of Herring and Waterloo roads, North Ryde

Macquarie Centre will host a Fresh Food Market with demonstrations, tastings, face painting and balloon bending. Workshops including cheese platter demonstrations by Panetta Mercato and cookie decoration at Passiontree Velvet, while Sydney Cooking School director Brett Deverall will showcase how to cook dishes including tasting plates, the perfect roast and desserts.

SWAP Awards Night

When: The exhibition will open on Thursday 20 September 2018 and runs until Thursday 4 October
Where: See Street Gallery, Meadowbank.

The City of Ryde proudly presents the return of the Sustainable Waste To Art Prize, exhibiting art and design objects that relate to sustainable living or waste themes, made from used or recycled material. Come and join the awards night as the SWAP winners are announced and the exhibition is officially opened, plus vote for your favourite artwork or design object in the exhibition.

Mid-Autumn Festival - Moon Festival

Where: Civic Hall, 1 Devlin Street

From traditional performances to Mooncake tastings and lucky draws, this fun morning event celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival which is the second grandest festival in China after theChinese New Year. It takes its name from the fact that it is always celebrated in the middle of the autumn season. The day is also known as the Moon Festival, as at that time of the year the moon is at its roundest and brightest. Register for this free event here.

Curious kids club - let's have fun with science

When: Tuesday 18 September 2018 / 4.00pm - 5.00pm
Where: West Ryde Library, 2 Graf Avenue

Get 'hands on' and engage in the world of science. Learn about paper chromatography, jumping sultanas, hovering ping pong balls, fishing using magnets, tornadoes in a bottle, mini volcanoes and more.

Mayor's Morning Tea

When: Saturday 29 September, 10.30am - 12.00pm
Where: ELS Hall Park (near the new playground), Kent Road, North Ryde

Free coffee, free face painting, free jumping castle. Come along to ELS Hall Park (near the new playground) and meet the Mayor, Councillor Jerome Laxale, for a free Morning Tea and talk to the Mayor about Local Issues and enjoy the morning with all of the family. There will be fun activities for kids including face painting and a jumping castle.

Eastwood Night Markets

Where: Eastwood Plaza
When: Saturday from 4.00pm to 10.00pm

Enjoy cultural food delights such as Chinese, Thai, Taiwanese, Malaysian, wood fire pizza, gelato at this weekly night market. Shop the stalls that are packed with different products every week, and check out some serious green with the big variety of pot plants. Children can enjoy a jumping castle and fishing games.
