Sydney Olympic Park offers a huge array of family activities, it’s more than Sydney’s event capital. Home to a host of sports and entertainment venues, along with 430 hectares of parklands and open space, the Park has a packed and diverse range of activities for the whole family to enjoy over summer, including its 2018-19 summer school holidays program, which can help kids of all ages keep active minds and active bodies on every day of the holidays.
- Fizzics Education
Join Fizzics Education for a range of school holiday workshops at the Education Centre in Bicentennial Park on Monday 14 January and Tuesday 22 January 2019, including Extreme Engineering, Gross and Gory Science, Curious Kids, and Wet and Wonderful Science.
- The Writing Workshop
Kids can participate in school holiday writing workshops on various topics, aimed at different age groups, at the Education Centre in Bicentennial Park almost every day between Saturday 12 January and Friday 25 January 2019.
- Movies by the Boulevard
Experience cinema under the stars when Movies by the Boulevard returns every Wednesday to Sunday between 12 and 27 January, including a special Australia Day celebration on Saturday 26 January 2019.
The long-running event, proudly supported this year by City of Parramatta Council, will see features screened from 8.30pm each night of operation. Food and beverages will also be available each evening from 6pm, along with a dedicated UberEats pick-up point. Kids entertainment and pre-movie activities will also be on offer on selected nights.
- Digital Filmmaking Workshop
The Digital Filmmaking Workshop will be held during the school holidays at Building 22 in the Newington Armory from 8-10 January 2019.
- Take a Train
Discover the Heritage listed Armory Express Train at Newington Armory in Sydney Olympic Park during the school holidays on 14-18 and 21-25 January, or ride the Heritage Railway every Sunday.
Sydney Olympic Park is also the home of elite sport and there will be plenty of top-class competition for the whole family to enjoy this summer. See some of the stars of world tennis on court at the NSW Tennis Centre at The Sydney International from Sunday 6 until Saturday 12 January. Enjoy non-stop action as top-ranked players such as US Open Champion, Naomi Osaka and Wimbledon winner, Angelique Kerber, compete for the championship. Every day is family day with entry free for kids.
