‘Worst thing I’ve ever seen on TV’: Viewers slam Daryl’s You’re Back In The Room
IT RATED through the roof, but viewers have been merciless with their verdicts about You’re Back In The Room.
IT was a ratings smash for Nine, but it seems many viewers were less than impressed with Nine’s much-hyped You’re Back In The Room last night.
The program, which sees contestants attempt to compete for cash while under hypnosis, is the first of several new formats Nine will unleash this year in an effort to lift their poor ratings from the beginning of 2016.
And based on last night’s ratings, it’s been a success: You’re Back In The Room rated 1.15m last night, beating MKR in Sydney and delivering Nine its first Sunday survey win of 2016.

But while viewers switched on in their droves, it seems many didn’t like what the saw. Viewers took to social media to deliver their verdict on Daryl’s new offering - and they didn’t hold back:

Are Channel 9 actually trying to make television or is this one big giant episode of Ashton Kutcher's Punk'd #yourebackintheroom

Approx 7 people on Twitter think #yourebackintheroom is hilarious. I think they're all Channel 9 employees.

To be fair, some viewers did tweet that they were enjoying the show — but confusingly, some of them seem to be UK viewers referring to the British version of the show, which coincidentally aired its latest episode last night (to an altogether warmer reception):
Some did appear to be talking about the local version, though:
Very funny, had me in stitches.

Last night’s ratings success will lift Nine’s fortunes following high-profile flops including, most recently, Reno Rumble.
Australia’s Got Talent also failed to fire, as well as disappointing results for The Embassy and The Farmer Wants A Wife.
“This is a disastrous start for Nine,” Fusion Strategy’s Steve Allen told News Corp Australia last month. “It is the worst start by Nine on record, with no real hits, and many also-rans and failures.”
