Why is everyone ripping on Celebrity Apprentice contestant Stephanie Rice?
SHE has survived the first four boardroom sackings but Stephanie Rice doesn't seem to be making any friends on Celebrity Apprentice.
SHE'S survived the first four boardroom sackings but Stephanie Rice doesn't seem to be making any friends on Celebrity Apprentice.
It was a case of the Olympian vs the PR powerhouse this morning when Roxy Jacenko took aim at fellow Apprentice contestant, Rice, on morning radio.
Today FM's Kyle Sandilands questioned Jacenko as to why she didn't get along with the swim star. The ruthless businesswoman swiftly replied: "Stephanie doesn't want to do anything, everything is… I don't even know where to start. Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie, not my best friend."
The 28-year-old dynamo then launched into a story about how the pair first met - with Rice borrowing dresses from Jacenko’s Sydney-based PR office.
"She's been into our office quite a bit, to borrow clothes. But when I met her she said 'it's nice to meet you, who are you?'
"I was like 'remember I'm that girl you borrowed those frocks from, Stephanie'."
Jacenko then declared that Rice was no longer welcome to use any of her clothing ever again.
"She's banned, sorry."
Rice was unavailable for comment when contacted by news.com.au this morning.
This isn't the first time the Olympic gold medallist has been taken down a notch by another Celebrity Apprentice contestant.
Rice, 24, also revealed to Kyle and Jackie O two weeks ago that she "clashed" with swimming legend Dawn Fraser while filming the cut-throat reality TV show.
"Do you feel that she's… a little jealous that swimmers this day get a lot of perks compared to what she got in her day?" Jackie O asked.
"It was a really awkward situation I think, because I looked up to her as a swimmer, it's really hard to compare who was better, you just don't compare," Rice responded.
"She [Dawn] was phenomenal. What I've done is great, it's a different era, we've got media sponsorships, money that we didn’t have, I'm sure she's definitely a bit jealous of what we have now."
For the record, Fraser won a total of four gold medals during her swimming career, while Rice's total sits at three.
Rice, who has teared-up on more than one occasion in front of the cameras, admitted on air that she considered pulling out of Nine's ratings-winning show.
"I definitely had a point in the show, maybe around episode five where I thought why am I doing this?
"I wasn't sure if I was just being perceived as being very strong… maybe I was being too strong, maybe I needed to validate why I was being so assertive.
"I definitely took a lot of lessons from the show, and I mean I am selfish, I definitely watched myself back and go 'oh Steph you maybe should have calmed down a little on that one'."
With episode five of Celebrity Apprentice airing tonight, we'll all be tuning in to see if the feisty arch-rivals continue to butt heads or if they manage to keep the claws safely tucked away this evening.
