Walkers Crisps Christmas Advert 2019

Mariah Carey has been ridiculed for looking like she “hates” chips in a new UK Christmas commercial – despite being paid $16 million to front the campaign.

In the ad for Walkers Crisps, the 49-year-old songstress fights over a pack of “pigs in blanket” flavoured chips after singing her festive hit All I Want For Christmas.

After claiming victory and snatching the bag for herself, Carey then takes a tiny bite of a chip.

No thanks.
No thanks.
Mariah clearly loves chips.
Mariah clearly loves chips.

But fans of Walkers haven’t taken lightly to her minuscule morsel and claimed the star looked like she could “hardly bear to put it near her mouth”.

Twitter users went as far as pleading with the singer to “take a proper bite” as they slammed her appearance.

As well as starring in the Christmas ad, Carey’s face will be splashed across 50 million bags of chips as part of the multimillion-dollar sign-up.

As reported by The Sun, Carey takes over from the Spice Girls as the leading lady of Walkers.

Carey, who is worth an estimated $457 million, has previously appeared in adverts for Macy’s — alongside Donald Trump — and for weight-loss firm Jenny Craig.
