The Boys season two trailer promises more madness
This streaming show really loves things that go boom, and smoosh. If the trailer for season two is anything to go by, more mayhem ahead.
Are you ready for some bad, bad superheroes and heads going smoosh?
Amazon Prime Video original series The Boys generated a lot of obsessive fans last year with its premiere season thanks to its zany reversal where superpowered heroes were the villains, but the good guys are also a little bit naughty.
It was fast-paced, action-packed and very, very violent.
It was also really fun.

If you didn’t catch the first season, know that it’s set in a world where superheroes have been corporatised, and really aren’t the good guys we’re led to believe, so a group of vigilantes set out to expose them.
The second season is imminent, and a new trailer has just been released which promises the over-the-top zaniness won’t let up.
Warning: explicit language
Set to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire”, which in itself is an obvious hint that the forthcoming season will deliver bucketloads of insane moments, the trailer is crammed full of blood splatter, dismembered body parts and explosions.
In other words, exactly what fans of The Boys want.
After that mad season one finale, with our heroes now wanted fugitives and that reveal about Butcher’s wife, we can’t wait to see what The Boys has in store. It’s sure to be bonkers.
The Boys was created by Eric Kripke from the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr and Erin Moriarty. Aya Cash joins the cast for the second season.
The Boys season two premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 4.
