JEREMY Clarkson has shocked fans with a photo of his bloodied and blackened face after attempting the “most dangerous stunt” yet for his Amazon Prime motoring show.

Yesterday the ex-Top Gear host tweeted: “Tomorrow morning, I’m doing the most dangerous stunt I’ve ever attempted. This may well be a goodbye.”

However it appears it wasn’t as he took to the social media site again today to reveal: “I survived the day. Just,” as he posted the alarming selfie.

In it, his face is covered in what looks like soot or ash and blood is smeared on and around his nose, reported The Sun.

The TV presenter is currently in the Jordanian capital of Amman filming the new show.

He didn’t reveal what the stunt was but he followed up the selfie with another mysterious tweet, reading: “My first time in [Amman]. It hurt, but I liked it.”

Meanwhile Richard Hammond, one of Clarkson’s co-stars on the new show along with James May, tweeted a photo of himself holding a large horn, writing: “Unlike m’colleague, our shoot this week never put my life in danger. But it was bloody unusual.”

Last year, the BBC said Clarkson’s contract would not be renewed following an incident where he punched Top Show producer Oisin Tymon.

Hammond and May then announced they would not return to the program and left the BBC to follow Clarkson to the new motoring show to be streamed by Amazon.

In June 2105, it was announced British radio and TV host Chris Evans would take on helming Top Gear with his first series set to air in the UK in May.

The line up also includes former Friends actor Matt LeBlanc and racing drivers Sabine Schmitz from Germany and Ireland’s Eddie Jordan.
