Hughesy had a problem after a stripper spoke about him on national TV

Dave Hughes was in the bad books with his wife when a stripper opened up on TV about her experience with the comedian.

Dave Hughes has revealed how a stripper’s confession on national television landed him in hot water with his wife.

The Hughesy, We Have A Problem host (which airs at 9pm tonight on Channel 10) told news.com.au about the awkward moment which took place not long after his bucks party in 2006.

“We had dinner at a strip club,” Hughesy said about his bucks. “There were a few celebrities there and I just thought, we don’t need to be walking around the streets with these people, so let’s just get a private room at a strip club.”

Hughesy, We Have A problem is back on Ten tonight.

The bucks party went from 6pm to 4am the next morning, a fact that didn’t amuse his now wife, Holly Ife.

“She knew we were going to a strip club but she didn’t realise it was going to be that long,” Hughesy told news.com.au. “It became a little bit of a sore point.

“The day after the bucks party I’d been reading out to her messages from some of my mates saying it was the best night of their lives. She said, ‘I really don’t want to hear about it. I don’t really need to know how your bucks party was the best night of their lives.’”

Little else was said about the wild bucks party and the couple later tied the knot on New Year’s Eve 2006.

But then, six weeks later, the strip club bender became an issue once again thanks to one of the strippers.

Hughesy and his wife were watching a game show called 1 vs. 100 which was hosted by Eddie McGuire when the comedian spotted a familiar face.

“On the show they had pods of different employers, like miners and nurses,” Hughesy explained to news.com.au.

“On the episode we were watching, there was a group of exotic dancers. Eddie asked one of them what she’d done lately and she said she’d danced at Dave Hughes’ bucks party. It was established she was there on the night with all her stripper mates.”

The stripper’s confession made things a little awkward in the Hughes household.

“She wasn’t wrapped,” Hughesy recalled.
