ABC2 TV show ‘Dirty Laundry Live’ pushes the boundaries with edgy one-liners

HIDDEN on ABC2 is the weekly quiz show Dirty Laundry Live which has some of the wittiest and rudest one-liners on Aussie TV. Here are some of the best.

 ABC's Dirty Laundry

THE ABC used to be about bananas in pyjamas and Mr. Bean re-runs. But not anymore.

It’s got its edge back thanks to weekly quiz show Dirty Laundry Live which is somewhat hidden away on ABC2.

Hosted by Lawrence Mooney and armed with celebrity guests, the show which is now in its second season takes aim at the biggest news stories of the week and unleashes zinger after zinger.

Mooney’s witty one-liners definitely aren’t PC, but they are hilarious.

Here are our favourite jokes from the show so far:

On Joe Hockey and his cigar smoking: It’s strange that Joe was smoking before the budget. Normally people light up a smoke after they f*** you.

On Kim and Kanye’s Marriage: Kim and Kanye are now on honeymoon, while mum Kris is minding baby North West. And by minding, I mean rubbing her tummy and hoping gold coins come out.

Different celebrity panellists join the show each week.

On Tony Abbott’s winking: When I saw the headline, “Tony Abbott Winks Over Pensioner”, I thought, that is one vowel away from being a VERY different headline.

Also on Tony Abbott winking: The public are really divided about Tony Abbott winking. Some people think Tony is a horrible sexist, but others think he’s a sleazy a***hole. Personally, I’m on the fence.

Mel Doyle being fired by Sunrise: Mel Doyle was forced to leave Sunrise and given a $150,000 pay cut. Apparently, Mel got the bad news in a very sombre meeting with the cash cow.

On Joel Madden being caught with marijuana last year: You can understand why Joel needs a spliff to unwind, after a hard day’s work sitting on a spinning chair, listening to power ballads.

On Miranda Kerr posing naked with the Australian flag: People are saying it’s offensive, but if I was the Australian flag, I’d much rather be draped around that body than a fat, sweaty bloke, wearing a watermelon helmet.

TITLE: Packed to the Rafters tribute sketch SIZE: 650x366px CAPTION: .

On Simon Cowell having a baby: It would be tough being Simon Cowell’s kid. You go through a long labour, you’re finally born, and your dad takes one look at you and says, “Sorry ... it’s a no from me.”

On Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s divorce: Gwyneth Paltrow’s former husband Chris Martin was sprung taking their kids to a fast food restaurant. When Gwyneth finds out Chris gave the kids fast food, there’ll be another conscious uncoupling ... of his balls from his body.

On Budget Cuts threatening Peppa Pig: When I first heard the ABC was axing a show starring a plump, pink, little pig, I thought, hang on, I’m doing an okay job.

Dirty Laundry Live airs on Thursdays at 9.30pm on ABC2.
