50 best TV shows ever, according to 10,000 flicks.com.au voters
10,000 voters have spoken, and they’ve picked what they consider the 50 best TV shows ever made. Prepare to disagree.
Any ranking of the greatest TV shows of all time is going to be controversial.
Unless it’s your personal list, you’re never going to completely agree.
So, prepare to agree and disagree with the latest poll, conducted by Australian site flicks.com.au, and voted on by 10,000 online respondents who selected what they consider to be the 50 best TV shows ever made.
It’s a mix of dramas and comedies including some usual suspects such as the top two, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, while Friends at number three may prove controversial, especially to Seinfeld fans whose beloved series sits behind at number four.
The Sopranos is in fifth spot, followed by MASH, The Simpsons, The Wire, The Office US and Big Bang Theory.
The top non-American series is Doctor Who is number 12 while no Australian shows made the top 25.
Personally, I question any list that places the near-perfect series Mad Men as low as 20 and below the Big Bang Theory and the uneven Dexter, or a top 50 that includes Supernatural and NCIS. But that’s just me.
