Tim Gilbert announced as Ben Fordham’s replacement as sports presenter on The Today Show
WHILE we still can’t quite believe it, Ben Fordham will be leaving the Today Show at the end of the year and Nine has announced who will fill his shoes.
WHILE we still can’t quite believe it, Ben Fordham will be leaving the Today Show at the end of the year.
His replacement has was announced on Twitter yesterday, with Tim Gilbert stepping up to fill Fordham’s shoes.

Gilbert is the sports presenter on Weekend Today and often fills in during the week.
Gilbert has worked with Channel Nine for almost 20 years, first starting with the network in 1996.
Fordham, who announced he was leaving the show back in March, took to Twitter to congratulate his successor.

Fellow Nine reporter Wendy Kingston called Gilbert “one of the nicest guys on TV” while Lisa Wilkinson and Richard Wilkins also took to Twitter to congratulate their new co-host.
It was announced in March that Fordham who is expecting his first child with Jodie Speers, was leaving the program to concentrate on his radio commitments.
Fordham, who hosts the Drive program on Sydney talkback radio station 2GB, said: “This is now the fourth and final year that I can work both ends of the day.”
“(My wife) Jodie has been incredibly understanding with my work arrangement but I need to be realistic about what I can do and how long I can do it.”
