The Slap - Thursday 20th

AND now it's Harry's turn. His would be the story you've been waiting for, wouldn't it? (Pretend you haven't read the book.)

AND now it's Harry's turn. His would be the story you've been waiting for, wouldn't it? (Pretend you haven't read the book.)

I've talked to two actors in the last month who auditioned for parts in The Slap and didn't get them. Both dudes you would know. Household names. Plus great at their job.

The first guy, I hadn't seen any of the show when he and I spoke and I thought, God, if this bloke didn't make it, either The Slap is really, really bad or really, really good.

Until I watched Alex Dimitriades in tonight's episode, I had assumed "my" two actors had tried out for Hector. Now I'm not sure.

I've loved Dimitriades since he played Warren Lanfranchi in Blue Murder. Harry is a showy role, no question, but in the wrong hands this could've been ugly.

Where does this go now? Harry should probably try to get one of the inner circle on side.

Anouk is the most likely, but Anouk, you'll recall, didn't actually see the whole thing, the slap, go down. She was too busy gawking at what was taking place between Hector and Connie.

Or maybe things have settled down enough for everyone to sit down and talk it through, like adults. Is Harry up to that? Is Rosie? Obviously if that meeting were to happen, she'd have to breastfeed throughout ...

Or will it actually get to court? How will the magistrate feel about breastfeeding?

But that's only speculation.

You wait 'til you see Harry's home life. I don't know how you feel about what he did to Rosie and Gary's kid, but maybe you'll have a different outlook after tonight's episode. There's some pretty hard stuff here. Luckily, I like hard.
