THE latest layer of the Big Brother twist was revealed - two complete strangers thrown into the house posing as husband and wife. Could this just be the most absurd element of this season so far?

Meet Jade and Drew, the newest residents of the 2013 Big Brother house. The pair was introduced in the diary room, presented with a set of engagement rings and given mere minutes to conjure up a believable story as to how they met.

Within minutes of being thrown at the mercy of their 12 excitable new housemates, the 'newlyweds' faced some serious grilling.

How did they meet? Where are they from? How did he propose? How long have they been together? Where was the wedding? A barrage of questions came thick and fast, so It's hardly surprising that they quickly began to panic and get cold feet about the whole facade.

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to slam the sham marriage twist. Most were doubtful that the young pair will be able to pull it off for a few hours, let alone an entire week!

Some glaring holes in Big Brother's latest game-changer are the tender age of the happy couple - Jade is just 22 and Drew is 24. The blinding bling on Jade's finger which her uni student fiancé claims he spent a whopping $15,000 on, and the ring is way too big for her finger anyway.

It's only a matter of time before the already-suspicious housemates pick up on these flaws and Jade and Drew's faux-mance all comes crumbling down.

Either way, perhaps it's a good lesson in how hard it is to fake it in the house. Can you really lie your way to winning $250,000?
