Lady Loki introduced to series in huge twist

WARNING: SPOILERS

The second episode of Loki has officially aired on Disney+, and we have finally been introduced to Lady Loki.

After it was revealed in a series promo that Loki’s sexuality was ‘fluid’, fans of the comic were keen for ‘Lady Loki’ to finally be introduced on-screen, and they got their wish.

Sophia Di Martino portrayed the role of Lady Loki, and while she looked absolutely banging, she wasn’t exactly what fans were expecting.

Following the comics, Lady Loki has dark hair, but in the show she is portrayed much differently.

By the end of the episode, as the Time Variance Authority completely fail their mission at Roxxcart, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) disappears with Lady Loki. Of course, he couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to run away and leave the TVA.

Lady Loki was introduced in the comics during a 2007-2008 Thor run written by J. Michael Straczynski, however she has never appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before.

When Ragnarok destroys Asgard in the comics, the spirits of its people find new hosts on Earth, and for Loki, his host turns out to be the dark-haired woman.

Later, in the Loki: Agent of Asgard comic, she wasn’t occupying anybody else’s body but was just a new form of a gender fluid Loki. Somewhat similar to what we’re seeing now.

Before Loki premiered on Disney+, it was revealed Loki to be gender fluid.

The Tom Hiddleston character was outed in a trailer.

At the end of the 18-second clip, which was posted to the official Loki Twitter account, the camera briefly pans to the supervillain’s Time Variance Authority file, which lists the character’s sex as “fluid”.

Many had speculated that Loki was fluid, due to the androgynous Asgardian’s shapeshifting abilities, while their non-binary identity was confirmed in the 2014 comic book Thor & Loki: The Tenth Realm when their father Odin referred to Loki as both his “son” and “daughter”.
