Sam Heughan and Aussie actress Jessica De Gouw star in sexy new series The Couple Next Door
Outlander actor Sam Heughan stars alongside Perth-born actress Jessica De Gouw in Binge’s hot new psychological thriller.
One look at the sexy new series The Couple Next Door and it’s clear Outlander actor Sam Heughan is not in the Scottish Highlands anymore.
Worlds away from his leading man role as Jamie Fraser in the historical drama, Heughan plays a sexy traffic cop named Danny who is the neighbour of Evie (played by Eleanor Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch), a couple who have just moved into an upscale neighbourhood.
Soon they find themselves becoming close friends with Danny and his hot wife Becka (played by Aussie actress Jessica De Gouw), and before they know it, things spiral as they get swept up in the mundane world of suburbia and its darkest desires.
The six-episode psychological thriller premieres on BINGE on Friday and promises to be your next addictive viewing pleasure.

Heughan recently opened up about his role in the steamy new series, telling Hello! magazine it was a welcome departure from his role in Outlander, which streamed locally on Foxtel.
“I’ve been working on Outlander for a decade and it’s hard to find roles that are different but also fit into a time period,” he told the magazine during a recent Q&A promo tour.
“I’d just finished filming the last season of Outlander so this fit perfectly, also having worked with [director] Dries Vos before, I loved working with him on Suspect. For me, I read the scripts and I just jumped at the chance.”
“I just love this character and it’s very different to what I’ve played before, he’s rather ambiguous. You think he’s one thing and by the end, you feel differently about him.”
De Gouw, who grew up in Perth, is equally proud of the series.
“Our show can feel a little bit Desperate Housewives in that it’s very self-aware, and there’s very tongue-in-cheek moments, particularly in the first three episodes,” she told Channel 4 in a recent interview.
“But then it’s also got a Twin Peaks vibe, where everything’s a little unsettling and unnerving. I grew up in a semi-rural area, pretty close to what Becka experienced I imagine.”
The Couple Next Door premieres on Friday, December 1 on BINGE and on Showcase at 830pm and is available On Demand.
