The Sex and the City revival is coming up Rosie.

Rosie O’Donnell has joined the cast of And Just Like That … for the series’ upcoming third season.

“Here comes mary #andjustlikethat @hbo,” O’Donnell, 62, wrote on Instagram on Wednesday along with a photo of her script and a makeup-free selfie.

The script revealed O’Donnell will play the role of a new character named Mary, and she will appear in the season premiere, titled “Outlook Good.”

Several of the comedian’s friends and fans expressed their delight at the news that she is joining Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis in the New York City-based show, which airs locally on BINGE.

“we love it!” Ilana Glazer wrote in the comments section of the post.

“Yesssssss,” Michelle Visage cheered.

“I’ve never watched the show but now I have a reason!” a fan wrote.

“Goodbye Che and hello Mary!!!” another supporter commented, referring to Sara Ramirez’s polarising character, Che Diaz, who appeared in the first two seasons of the series before exiting earlier this year.

Ramirez, 48, portrayed the love interest of Nixon’s character, Miranda Hobbs, who came out as queer during the first season of the SATC spin-off.

Reports surfaced that Ramirez would no longer be on the show after speculation that the nonbinary actor had been fired after sharing pro-Palestinian Instagram posts.

“While they give awards away, casting directors and agents are making blacklists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians in Gaza to ensure they will not work again,” Ramirez claimed at the time. “While they lift up some of their own clients who have spoken up against this genocide, they are firing and letting others who have smaller platforms go.”

They added, “It’s wild how performative so many in Hollywood are. Even more performative than the last character I played,” alluding to Diaz.

However, production sources told the Daily Mail that the controversial character was always supposed to end her journey on the show.

“Sara was not fired because they support Palestine and the ceasefire,” one insider told the outlet. “Sara was fired because Che brought nothing to the show anymore. After Che split with Miranda, the character really held no value anymore, and fans found them annoying.”

It is unclear whether Miranda will finally find love with Mary, but the new season is not expected to premiere until 2025.
