Netflix’s Obliterated delivers one of the weirdest sex scenes of 2023
Just when you thought Hollywood couldn’t jazz up sex scenes any more, Netflix’s latest comedy series has thrown a camel into the mix.
There’s no shortage of sex, drugs, and shenanigans in Netflix’s raunchy new action comedy Obliterated.
Created by Cobra Kai’s Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, the series centres on an elite special forces team who, after a wild night of partying, have seven hours to find a nuke and save the world while massively hungover (and/or still intoxicated).
The first episode includes a wild sex scene between mismatched squad leaders Ava Winters (Shelley Hennig) and Chad McKnight (Nick Zano) that hilariously concludes with the team’s “tech girl,” Maya Lerner (Kimi Rutledge), recreating Ali Larter’s iconic whipped cream bikini scene from Varsity Blues.
Is that the craziest sex scene in the series? Not even close, friend. The penultimate episode of Season 1 (‘Make It Rain’) earned that honour.
Winters and McKnight once again give in to temptation, but this time they’re not alone. As Aerosmith’s Sweet Emotion plays, the two begin to have sex in their Vegas hotel room. Amid the ecstasy, the two are greeted by … Joey the camel.
Vegas, am I right?
“I don’t think I can come with a camel staring at me,” Winters tells McKnight. Ever the gentleman, he spins her around but is also distracted by Joey, whose real name is Skittles by the way (thanks, Netflix press notes!). Perfect name for a camel. Love it. No notes.
Winters and McKnight’s impromptu three-way is eventually interrupted by Maya and the team, with Trunk delivering this pitch-perfect zinger:
Hopefully, the old adage rings true: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
Many viewers have since taken to X to describe the series as “fearlessly fun” and a “perfect mix of The Hangover and American Pie.”
“Just binged Obliterated. That was such a wild show! I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a while,” another user wrote.
“Absolutely loved every minute of Obliterated. Was the most fun, most 90s throwback and just a great show to watch.”
All eight episodes of Obliterated are now streaming on Netflix.
