InfoWars reporter Jamie White ‘brutally murdered’ near Austin, Texas home
The InfoWars reporter was shot dead near his Texas home on Sunday night, according to the outlet.
InfoWars reporter Jamie White was “brutally murdered” near his Texas home on Sunday night, according to the conspiracy theorist outlet.
Alex Jones, the founder of the far right InfoWars media outlet, revealed the shocking news in a video statement shared by the outlet on Monday.
“We are deeply saddened to inform you that InfoWars Reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered around midnight Sunday night,” Jones said.
White was heading home from work Sunday night local time when he was killed.
ABC 7News reported White, 36, was found lying on the ground in the parking lot around 11:56pm.
Police believe the suspects may have been burglarising White’s car when White interrupted them and was shot dead.
In a monologue Monday, Jones described the scene, saying there was “blood all over the parking lot.”
InfoWars, a far-right conspiracy theory website and media platform founded by Jones, has drawn fierce opposition for spreading misinformation and false claims.
It has faced numerous legal battles, including defamation lawsuits over false statements about events like the Sandy Hook school shooting.
InfoWars was widely deplatformed in 2018, with major online platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Apple removing its content.
It returned to X – formerly Twitter – in December 2023.
Police have said they have no information about a suspect but say an investigation is underway.
White’s death marks the eighth homicide in Austin so far this year.
