The British actress picked up the Emmy for Best Actress, Limited for the gripping HBO crime miniseries at Monday's ceremony.

Mare of Easttown is an expensive seven-part series starring Winslet, Guy Pearce, Julianne Nicholson and up-and-coming Australian actress Angourie Rice.
As stripped-back as you’ve ever seen her, the legendary Winslet makes a rare TV appearance as miserable Detective Mare Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania Detective who is investigating the recent murder of a teenage mother.

While the premise – a murder mystery – may sound simple, Mare of Easttown has intrinsic layers which slowly peel back as the story unfolds, with the lens largely focused on Mare’s personal life and her own trauma.

Evan Peters comes on-board as Detective Colin Zabel, who assists Mare with her investigation.
Australian actor and director Guy Pearce joins the cast as Richard Ryan, a writing professor who begins dating Mare.

Who is behind the scenes of Mare of Easttown?
Behind the scenes, the crew doesn’t have the same level of star power as its lead ensemble, which makes the superb series even more of a pleasant surprise.
The show was created and written by Brad Ingelsby, known for The Way Back, and was directed entirely by Craig Zobel (The Leftovers).
Winslet also serves as executive producer.
