WARNING: Spoilers ahead for House of the Dragon episode three
The third episode of House of the Dragon has dropped, and it’s a clear frontrunner among fans so far.
Episode three, titled “Second of His Name”, kicks off with a significant time jump, with King Viserys (Paddy Considine) and Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey) now husband-and-wife and parents to their first child, son Aegon Targaryen. Civil war, incoming.
Viserys is hosting a hunt outside King’s Landing to celebrate Aegon’s second birthday, where his teen daughter and current heir Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) rebels against her father – who is attempting to marry her off – and goes MIA in the woods.
She’s feeling the love surrounding her baby brother, and knows it’s something the realm will never give her.
Elsewhere, over in the Stepstones, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) are fighting – and losing – their war against the Crabfeeder, which eventually culminates in bloody and spectacular fashion.
