Foxtel has extended its partnership with A+E Network, which will see customers continue to have access to popular programs from the US cable channel.

This includes the extension of some of Foxtel’s most in-demand channels including Crime & Investigation, The History Channel, A+E and Lifetime Movie Network.

The Foxtel Group* today announced the ongoing multi-year partnership, which brings with it a library of new and existing LMN movie titles and acclaimed A+E Network series such as Pawn Stars, Court Cam, Forged In Fire and Cold Case Files.

It’s no doubt welcome news for Aussies who are devouring factual content of late, with audiences for crime, history, and accident and emergency content growing by 17 per cent in the last year.

Amanda Laing, Foxtel Group chief content and commercial officer, said: “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with A+E Networks, a union that has been strengthened over more than 20 years and allows us to continue to deliver high-quality, thought-provoking and original programming to our millions of entertainment subscribers.

“In July we saw more than 1.3 million hours viewed of Pawn Stars, The First 48 and Time Team by our loyal subscribers.

“We’re excited to be able to continue to unearth stories that evoke curiosity and a deep knowledge for the world around us.”

Other key programs across the A+E Network include Storage Wars, American Pickers, Alone, Forged in Fire and Mountain Men, while Crime & Investigation’s Live PD, Court Cam and The First 48 rank among the top five documentary series on Foxtel so far this year.

Foxtel subscribers will be able to continue streaming on demand content, as well as live viewing across the Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) which saw a 24 per cent jump in streaming in 2021.

It comes after Foxtel recently announced its new FOX DOCOS channel, which will serve as a dedicated destination for award-winning documentaries including the new Obama: In Pursuit Of A More Perfect Union, Foxtel Original Walking With Grace, starring Grace Tame, and Tiger, a documentary chartering the rise and fall of golf legend Tiger Woods.

The channel is set to launch September 1.
