A dramatic Sex And The City spoiler shared by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker has sent OG fans of the series into a spin.

The actress, who has reprised her role as the iconic New York columnist Carrie Bradshaw in Binge reboot And Just Like That … shared a collection of photos from set today, confirming a controversial character’s return.

And those who are firmly Team Mr. Big are not happy about it.

The loved-up snaps on the busy city street reveal her character is set to share a kiss with ex, Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett, after husband Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth, died in season one.

It comes after a years-long love triangle between Carrie, Big and Aiden, which even played out in the second Sex And The City film back in 2010.

After the surprise cameo in the film, many were under the impression Aiden’s involvement in the franchise had come to a close. Until now.

Sharing the plot twist this week, Parker wrote: “This. Is. Not. A. Drill. X, SJ”.

Unsurprisingly, the revelation prompted a huge response from celebrity followers and fans alike.

“NO WAYYYYYY,” wrote Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow.

“Well I guess we don’t need to watch the show now,” Aussie comedian Celeste Barber quipped at the major reveal.

“So there really are no men in New York,” one fan wrote of Carrie’s apparent backwards step.

Rumours Corbett was returning to the franchise began last month, with HBO confirming the news on Twitter with photos of him on set.

Plot details are slim, but an insider spilled to the New York Post that Carrie will have “at least” one boyfriend next season. As for her and Aidan, they will communicate via email before reuniting in person, where the steamy scene is believed to play out.

Opinions on the reboot as a whole remain divided, with the first season attracting criticism from viewers for being “too woke”, and for the long-lamented absence of Samantha Jones.

One character in particular — Che Diaz, portrayed by Sarah Ramirez, became one of the most talked-about TV figures of the year during the 2021 season.

Ramirez plays a non-binary comedian and love interest of Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), who eventually splits from her husband (and fan favourite) Steve to follow Che to California.

Ramirez will return for season 2.
