HER stint on the truly awful gabfest The Catch-Up might have been short-lived, but Lisa Oldfield proved herself a master of the put-down, saying she ruined the show.

HER stint on The Catch-Up might have been short-lived, but Lisa Oldfield yesterday proved herself a master of the put-down.

Issuing a very public apology to her talk show co-hosts Libbi Gorr, Mary Moody and Zoe Sheridan, Oldfield said she was largely to blame for the Nine Network's decision to axe the show.

Describing herself as a "pompous snot" with "no talent", Oldfield said she was nonetheless delighted to have been part of the program, which was pulled from the air after just one month.

"My only regret about doing it is that I dragged down three brilliant performers," she said. "I know I'm crap. I'm sorry that I've brought this upon them.

"I think Australia has had an absolute gutful of Lisa Oldfield - I know I've had an absolute gutful of Lisa Oldfield. I can't imagine me darkening anybody's TV screen again any time soon."

Despite her bleak self-assessment, Oldfield generated much of the publicity surrounding the show, after it was revealed that she had undergone plastic surgery.

Rumours of off-screen tensions between herself and co-host Libbi Gorr were also rife.

While Nine had no official comment yesterday, insiders said the station wanted to distance itself from the program. The fact that Oldfield was happy to speak about it was described as "not a good look".

The Catch-Up finale will air today at 12pm (AEST).
