Sia returns for SNL performance, nails it
DONALD Trump may have hosted, but it was Aussie singer Sia Furler who stole the show on SNL over the weekend. Not once, but twice.
IF there’s anyone who can trump Donald Trump, it’s Sia Furler.
Sia returned to Saturday Night Live — hosted by the presidential candidate himself — over the weekend to perform two hit singles from her upcoming album, This Is Acting, and she was sensational.
True to form, the Aussie singer hit the stage with her face hidden by her signature blonde wigs and giant bows, performing Alive and then following it up with Bird Set Free.
Incredibly, both songs were almost Adele’s, written by the talented pair for the British singer’s upcoming third studio album 25, but she ultimately decided not to include either of them. Alive was then pitched to Rihanna, who also turned it down.
For her first number, the 39-year-old shy songstress stood behind the mic while a doppelganger performed a powerful interpretative dance routine around her, similar to the single’s official music video.
After a wardrobe and wig change, she then returned to the stage to perform Bird Set Free with her talented lookalike in tow.

This isn’t the first time Sia has been the musical guest on SNL. In January, she performed hits Elastic Heart and Chandelier when Kevin Hart hosted the sketch comedy show. She returned the following month as a surprise when Kanye West performed Wolves.
Sia’s seventh album, This Is Acting, is due out on January 29.
