Sherri Mathieson culled from love race on Ten's The Bachelor

SHERRI Mathieson, the daughter of our former first Bloke, has become the latest beauty to tumble out of the ruthless race to win Bachelor Tim Robard's heart.

No rose for Sherri

SHERRI Mathieson, the daughter of our former first Bloke, has become the latest beauty to tumble out the ruthless race to win Bachelor Tim Robard's heart.

Mathieson was sent packing from the mansion last night after failing to receive a rose from Robards.

The 29-year-old make-up artist from the Gold Coast was one of two bachelorettes to go, the other being Dr Judy, who received the first rose of the series, but then struggled to hold Robard's attention.

Sherri, who is one of three daughters of Julia Gillard's partner Tim Mathieson, admitted she was roped in to the dating show by a mate after returning home from a year living in New York.

"I believe in timing and the timing was right. It seemed like a fun and different way to potentially find love," she said.

As for her dad's reaction to signing on for the televised 'search for love', the bachelorette says his advice was "Go have some fun and be yourself".

The Ten Network gave Mathieson very little airtime during the first three episodes and didn't draw attention to who her father was. Industry insiders suspected she would stay on the show a little longer to give her time to shine.

The reality dating show has been dumped from the Sunday night timeslot after a poor ratings performance last night, pulling just 576,000 viewers nationally.

Starting this week, it will now air Wednesdays at 7.30pm.

Seven's The X Factor nabbed the majority of viewers with 1.44 million while Nine's rival Australia's Got Talent followed closely with 1.172 million.
