Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed she has a side hustle working in retail
In a shocking turn of events an A-list star has been spotted working a humble retail gig.
Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she works in retail, you know when she isn’t busy being a movie star.
Sarah-Jessica is best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw in The Sex And The City franchise and being married to Ferris Bueller himself, aka Matthew Broderick.
She’s a fashion icon, a high-flyer at the annual Met Gala and good friends with Andy Cohen. She’s a New York ‘it’ girl, and she has been for decades.
So how does retail even fit into her schedule? Well, currently, she’s a busy lady promoting the second season of And Just Like That … a Sex and The City spin-off that has recieved lukewarm reviews but plenty of viewers.
People like to complain about the show, but no one can stop watching it, and she’s also managed to find time to work in a shoe store. Yes, she touches other people’s feet as a side gig – and it isn’t like she’s doing it because she needs the extra money — she owns the shoe store she’s working in.
Anyone who has watched Sex And The City would know the only thing more famous than the main character Carrie Bradshaw, was the shoes. The character was infamous for wearing Manolo Blahnik, and when the show became a success, everyone was desperate for Sarah Jessica to capitalise on how synonymous she had become with good shoes.
She listened and launched her own line of shoes called SJP in 2014, and the shoes tend to retail for between $200 to $500 – locally, you can secure a pair at David Jones.
The line has been so successful that she’s opened her own store in New York City, and she’s taken a very hands-on approach.
According to a profile of Sarah Jessica in The New Yorker, she aims to work in her own store at least once a week.
In fact, the reporter generously describes the experience of watching Sarah-Jessica work in her own store, and she isn’t just smiling around looking glam. No, she was getting down on her hands and knees and fitting people into shoes and discussing shoe size conversion rates.
Yes, she was touching other people’s feet willingly.

She was the retail worker that, when you walk into the store, calls out, “Can I help you?” Incredible.
TheNew Yorker reported that one customer left after buying two pairs of shoes from Sarah-Jessica and it was “maybe the best customer service I’ve ever had.”
Who can blame them? Imagine if there was a shoe store in Sydney where Lara Bingle would personally fit your toots.
