Roxy Jacenko lashes out at cynics during fiery 60 Minutes interview

PR QUEEN Roxy Jacenko has a strong message for anyone questioning the timing of her breast cancer battle.

ROXY Jacenko has lashed out at cynics in a fiery snippet of an upcoming 60 Minutes interview, claiming she “doesn’t really give a f*** what they think”.

The founder of Sweaty Betty PR has been firmly in the spotlight recently, thanks to her husband Oliver Curtis’ high-profile insider trading court trial.

Just three weeks after he was jailed for two years, the 36-year-old revealed she had a lump in her breast — and as reporter Allison Langdon pointed out in the promo clip, the timing has raised quite a few eyebrows.

“It is what it is. I’m unfortunately the person who has got the cancer, my husband is in jail, and I’m now a single mother,” Jacenko snapped.

“I don’t really give a f*** what they think on my timing.”

The PR queen then insisted she doesn’t have an image problem.

“There’s a problem isn’t there — when you announce that you have breast cancer and people’s first reaction is cynicism?” asked Langdon.

But Jacenko refused to accept that may be the case.

“You’ve got too much time on your hands if you say that.”

As Langdon pointed out, there were some “normal” people making the comments.

“Well they’re not normal Allison. Change your friends,” Jacenko hit back.

“They can say that, the reality is, it’s not something that I ever thought I would face.”

She was cagey when questioned on her husband’s conviction — claiming the pair “don’t discuss it”, but insisting “he’s got no reason to lie to me”.

The mother-of-two also opened up about being a temporarily single parent, and her determination to keep life as normal as possible for her five-year-old daughter Pixie and two-year-old son Hunter.

“I can’t believe I’m even in this position. I don’t want to let down the children,” she said. “There is me and only me. So I’ve got an obligation to all of those people to keep running, in heels!”

The interview with Jacenko will be shown on 60 Minutes this Sunday.
