William Shatner excited for new reality series Stars on Mars, filmed in Australia

William Shatner is excitedly counting down to the premiere of his new reality TV show, Stars On Mars, which was filmed in the Australian outback.

Stars such as cycling champion Lance Armstrong, wrestler Ronda Rousey, singer Tinashe, former Modern Family star Ariel Winter, and Bruce Willis’ actress daughter Tallulah Willis are among the famous faces simulating life as astronauts on a Mars colony – yes, they will all be wearing protective spacesuits.
Pioneering astronaut Neil Armstrong will also make a cameo in the series.
Shatner will send the group messages from Mission Control, ordering them to undergo daily challenges on the harsh terrain built to simulate Mars until one is crowned “the brightest star in the galaxy”.

Coober Pedy’s rust-coloured desert also served as the same location for Mel Gibson’s 1985 post-apocalyptic sequel Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Vin Diesel’s 2000 action flick Pitch Black, and the classic 1994 film Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Stars On Mars is the largest unscripted series to have ever filmed in SA. According to the local government, upwards of 250 local jobs were created by production, and 150 businesses benefited.
