Steve Price voted out of I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! to fulfil Dane Swan promise
SHOCK jock Steve Price voted out of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! will make good on his promise to Dane Swan to get a tattoo.
STEVE Price says he will make good on his promise to Dane Swan to get a tattoo.
After being voted out of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! the 62-year-old shock jock confirmed he would have ‘DS’ tattooed on his wrist so he can cover the ink with his watch.
“I will do it whenever anyone wants me to do it, no problem,” Price told News Corp Australia.
Price’s departure leaves Casey Donovan, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Nazeem Hussain and Swan as the final four of the season, with one to win $1000,000 for the charity of their choice.
“People I think invested in the show know that it is hard but until you are actually in there you don’t realise that this is all very real,” he said. “There is no pretend there, you don’t duck out the back and have a cold beer or a hamburger. I have absolutely no doubt this show has put 10 years on my life, health-wise there is no doubt.”
Price, 62, was a controversial addition to the cast from the beginning, known for his outspoken views on politics and various social issues. He ended up however being a leader in the camp, much loved by most of his fellow celebrities and bringing a sense of cohesion with his informative Jungle Radio interviews.
The exception for Price was reality TV star Keira Maguire, who nearly pushed him to breaking point.
“Keira is someone to avoid if possible, she was self-obsessed,” he said. “That trivial conversation drove me to the point of quitting. I decided I’d had enough. I was either going to explode at her or get out. I was convinced otherwise and I stayed but if anything was going to drive me out it was that inane, ridiculous conversation from someone who was acting a role to try and further their time in the program and I had better things to do.”
Price was motivated to stay around to raise money and awareness for his chosen charity, Carrie’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer.
As for work, Price hopes to be back to work and on air on Monday.
“I need to, I’ve been away six weeks here and a week prior and I have a full time job,” he said. “Most of the other guys in there have part-time work that is seasonal. I just walked out on a full time five day a week job. I hope it is still there when you get back.”
