The most popular contestant on Australian Survivor is gone and the show won’t be the same
WELL, the most popular contestant on Australian Survivor has been sent packing and the show won’t be the same.
NO doubt about it, Luke Toki is the ultimate fan favourite on Australian Survivor this year, but his popularity was not enough to save him on the Channel 10 reality show.
Toki is out of the show, with the few remaining tribe mates — except for his loyal friend Jericho Malabonga — voting him out in the latest episode.
Toki was no doubt a threat, as he would be hard to beat in the final stage of Australian Survivor — when the jury vote from the final two to decide a winner.
The father of two from Perth said he enjoyed every single minute of Australian Survivor, including watching it back.
“It’s been a blast to watch,” he said.
“I always wondered how they would edit me. I like to have fun, and I wasn’t sure how they were going to portray me, but it’s been great.”
Toki, a 30-year-old mining technician, had only positive things to say about his fellow tribe mates, despite getting so close to the end.
“The best thing about all of us, of course there is a couple of personality clashes, none of us have bitterness between each other,” he said.
“It will be great to catch up with everyone at the final and reunion special, to talk about the game, because everyone has their own opinion on who owns what move, etc.
“It’s going to be exciting to watch, hopefully there will be some more drama!.”
Toki said he only found out 20 minutes before tribal council that the vote from the majority had changed, and that meant his name was on the chopping block.
It would have been different, if challenge gun Lockie Gilbert had of lost the immunity challenge.
“I was banking on Lockie to lose immunity, but he just kept winning them,” Toki said.
The final two weeks of Australian Survivor will air on Channel 10 on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7.30pm.
