MARIAH Carey’s docu-series kicks off next week, but we’ve had a sneak peek and can reveal that the singer is not the star of the show.

STEP aside Mariah, you’re not the star of the show.

News.com.au has watched the first episode of the diva’s upcoming reality series, Mariah’s World, and we hate to say it, but the Hero singer is outshone by her lowly assistant named Molly.

The first episode revolves around Carey preparing for her European tour. She has just two weeks to get her sh*t together before playing 27 shows in 25 different countries.

With such a massive tour schedule, Carey’s manager decides she needs a new tour assistant.

Enter Molly, a ditzy blonde who reveals she believes she can do the job because she has worked at both a cafe and pet shop in the past.

During her interview with Stella Bulochnikov [Carey’s manager], Molly is told there are two simple rules if she wants the gig.

“You’re not allowed to date for the first year ... and also, there’s no crying allowed in my office,” Bulochnikov explains.

Clearly Molly omitted a few details about her life as the cameras then follow her back to her apartment where she has to reveal to her boyfriend (yes, boyfriend) that she got the job.

“The one who interviewed me, she said no boyfriends,” Molly says to her partner, “You can’t exist.”

Her bloke takes the news surprisingly well and viewers don’t get to see much of Molly until the end of the episode.

“Honey I got the job!”

But what a return she makes.

As Carey and her posse arrive in Glasgow for the first concert of the tour, Molly is shown lugging the singer’s luggage up a flight of stairs before attempting to get the room ready with the help of Carey’s fulltime housekeeper, Maria.

And things don’t go well.

“Do you have the Apple TV?” a frazzled Molly asks Maria, “do you know how to set it up?”

In a piece to camera, Molly then explains: “Apple TV, that’s the most important thing for Miss MC [Mariah Carey]. If she can’t have the Apple TV playing while she’s sleeping then she can’t sleep. If she can’t sleep she can’t perform. If she can’t perform there’s no show. If it’s not there everything else falls apart.”

The stakes are high guys!

Molly enlists the help of three hotel staff members who also have no idea how to set up the streaming service.

Unsure of what to do next, Molly bursts into tears (yep, now she’s broken both rules), an emotional response that the housekeeper just can’t quite seem to understand.

“Oh my gosh, I don’t know how to do any of this,” Molly cries.

“It’s not you,” Maria says.

“I know, but I’m the one who is getting in trouble though,” Molly explains, “Have you guys tried it before in different countries?” she asks the longtime staffer.

It’s all too much for Molly.

“Every country, when away, they all have Apple TV,” Maria replies rather unhelpfully.

This just makes Molly even more emotional and, realising she’s only made matters worse, the scene ends with Maria quickly trying to change the topic.

“You want something to eat?” she asks.

The whole exchange is hilarious and something tells us we’ll be seeing plenty more of Molly and her on the job fails in future episodes.

Mariah’s World premieres on E! on Monday, December 5 at 1pm with an encore at 9:30pm
